OUR VISION
Our Vision for Kids:
To raise children who are certain of who God is and certain who they are.
At Freedom Kids, we are passionate about raising kids who will know God as their Lord, Saviour and best friend. We have a vision for our kids to impact their schools, friends, families and even their nations with the good news of Jesus! We want our children to be sold out for God and His church; fully free, overflowing with His joy and peace as they stand firm in their identity as Him as their Dad.

What can I expect on a Sunday?
We create a children's ministry that is safe, age-appropriate, fun and engaging. Each child will experience an environment that is relevant to them with different set-ups for a range of age groups.
Freedom Kids is a fun place! Jesus tells us that He has come to give life in all its fullness (John 10:10). We are determined to have joy that stands in opposition to lifeless religion and that dancing and laughter will mark our lives. We have brilliant volunteers who sing songs, do crafts, play games, and build friendships with children, helping them and making a Sunday the best day of the week!
Your first visit
From when you arrive you will notice many friendly and eager to help volunteers welcoming you to church. Your first stop when you arrive will be the Kids Check In Area. We want you and your child to feel comfortable, safe and have fun during your time with us, so we will take some time to get to know you. We will find out your child’s preferred name, allergies/medical conditions and interests. You’ll then both be given a sticker with a unique code on it. If we need to reach you during the event at any time you’ll see this number appear on the upper right of the screen – please make your way to the kids area.

Our ages
We have an incredible environment for your children to learn about Jesus, regardless of their age. Below is our age breakdown:
Babies and Toddlers: 0 - 2 years
We have a space within our adult event dedicated to these children. This space includes plenty of toys, books, soft furnishings and equipment to keep both you comfortable and happy. We have a nappy change area and headphones you can borrow if the music is too loud. Every voice is special in Freedom Church and if your child is chatty or upset, please do not worry, they are always welcome in this space, whether asleep or speaking their mind!
Cubs: 2 - 4 years
For our toddlers and pre-school children, we have a safe, age-appropriate, and engaging environment where little ones can have fun whilst learning about Jesus while the adults have their preach.
What will they do?
We have a consistent routine to keep kids having fun, engaged and on track. We create sessions which lead up to the transition into our older groups and into a school environment by incorporating a curriculum relevant to them. We are passionate about being on a constant journey of development in every aspect of our lives and in Freedom Cubs, this is no exception. We not only invest in spiritual growth but also in communication, physical, social and emotional development.
The children will then join their parents whilst discussions continue in the adult event, having the opportunity to play with each other or independently with the games, toys, puzzles, books, colouring and activities provided, along with snacks under their parents' or carers' responsibility.
Adventurers: 4 - 11 years
Freedom Kids for ages 4–11 is a vibrant and engaging children’s ministry where kids can learn about Jesus in a fun, safe, and age-appropriate environment. Through interactive lessons, games, and activities, we teach Biblical principles in a way that connects to their everyday lives. We are passionate about nurturing each child’s faith, helping them grow in their relationship with God, and showing them they are loved and valued.
After the songs, Adventurers join our kids’ volunteers and enjoy fun, engaging activities in Adventurers until the event concludes at 12:00.

The journey home
We encourage parents/caregivers to keep the conversation going on their journey home. To facilitate this, we sometimes run series concurrently in kids and the adult event.
Ask your child these two questions:
-
Did you have fun?
-
What did you learn?
Our goal is to have a positive answer to both of those questions each week. Want to get more involved in what your child is learning? Contact our team to keep up with each week’s key takeaway, Bible story and further questions to discuss together at home.

Safeguarding
Every child that walks through our doors is precious to us at Freedom Church, and because of this, we have safeguarding policies in place to protect the children that are in our care.
This includes adhering to correct adult-child ratios, relevant background checks for our staff and training for volunteers. Safety is a huge priority for the Freedom Kids team, and we are constantly reviewing our procedures and ensuring that each individual child is treasured.
FAQ
Are your volunteers DBS checked?
Yes. All kids team members undergo safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS check.
How long is Freedom Kids?
All children start Freedom Kids in our main event space with their families. Following worship (our song time), they will leave for their individual groups.
Cubs (2-4s): Parents will take children to Cubs and check them in at the door. They will then have a 30-minute session coinciding with the talk in the adult event. At the end of cubs, our kids team will then bring them back into the main all-ages event space.
Adventurers (4-11s): Children will walk with volunteers to their room. Their session will be about an hour and a half until 12.00 pm when the event ends in the adult space. Parents/Carers collect their kids at this time.
